Supervise the Administration of the Cemetery Operations Departments in accordance with Company policy, and state and federal regulations; and by using skills and experience in business management, business development, risk management, quality assurance, human resource development, leadership, and professional development to provide excellent service to every customer.

Business Management

Monitor expenses and capital expenditures for assigned cost centers & capital projects within approved guidelines and provide detailed information for analysis as necessary.

Monitor areas of responsibility to assist in providing a high level of customer service necessary to achieve a JD Power rating that is in line with targeted goals. Assist leadership team in the development of analytical tools to proactively assist in the identification of service performance trends and assist in the development of enhancement measures as necessary. Review JD Powers Data to assign follow up of Visitor concerns and Employee improvement. .

Supervise the Cemetery Administration Coordinator

Maintain effective policies, procedures and internal controls for all areas of responsibility.

Understand and achieve annual SMART goals applied to each area.

Cemetery Administration

Monitor Associate attendance, maintain thorough attendance records and supporting documentation, and advise supervisors before staff reaches attendance disciplinary action.

Monitor and evaluate the ongoing operational and maintenance cost for the cemetery including, but not limited to, our fleet, equipment, facilities, grounds, and supporting services.

Create, monitor, and evaluate productivity and quality assurance matrices and take the necessary action along with the Cemetery Operation Management team to continuously improve results.

Document current and future state policies and processes that result in improved safety, customer service and/or productivity.

Maintain and update the Cemetery Policies and Procedures handbook and ensure acknowledgement from all active associates

Create and maintain reporting that includes, but is not limited to, grave repair aging and cycle time, marker installation cycle time, Witness backfill & distribution of interment scheduling, Quality Assurance performance, associate productivity, quarterly tailgates, and overall grounds maintenance.

Maintain Cross Function Departmental relationships to continuously improve results

Risk Management

Take appropriate management action to remain current with and to ensure compliance with all applicable company policies, and laws and regulations pertain to the cemetery operation’s group and our grounds and facilities.

Take appropriate management action to prevent personal injury or financial loss by maintaining strict compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.

Assist in ensuring that financial decisions are made according to budget targets, and are made in consultation with each affected party to provide a solid basis for success.

Assist in the training of Dignity University instructor led trainings for the Cemetery Operations Department

Assist Director to identify topics, produce content and maintain records of daily, monthly and adhoc staff and leadership meetings.


Champion the Company’s strategic goals by understanding them, articulating them, and collaborate with Operations Management to achieve those goals.

Actively participate (minimum of 8 hours weekly) in the field assisting others to consistently evaluate current procedures and recommend safety and efficiency enhancements.

Work with the Director of Cemetery Operations to set professional development goals and schedules. Ensure that seminars, classes, and other professional development opportunities are aligned with Company strategy; and that they contribute to job satisfaction and personal growth. Participate in community organizations and events that promote Rose Hills and that are aligned with the Company community relations plan.

Experience and Education

  • Four years or more of previous business management experience

  • B.S. degree in Business Administration preferred, or equivalent
