With compassion, answer inquiries requesting decedent removal and operator calls. Diplomatically asks questions, obtaining and recording pertinent information to initiate removal of decedent. Places outgoing calls to physicians and agencies to obtain proof of death and internal departments for disposition information. Prepares check requests for payment.
Essential Job Functions:

Professionally answers ‘First Calls’.With compassion and empathy, asks questions to obtain pertinent information.Enter responses in proprietary database software to initiate the removal process, embalming or cremation permission.
Places outgoing calls to physicians and agencies; applies diplomacy and patience while obtaining death information and reports.
Schedule arrangement appointments with client families.
Prepare and submit check requests as needed. Record payment request to contract number and accurately account for fee.
Upon receipt of certified death certificates, packages and addresses for specified mode of delivery.
Learning to apply knowledge and experience to business environment and industry.Accurately and timely completes a high volume of routine work following established procedures and complying with regulations and policies.Exhibits accountability for behaviors.
Takes the initiative to discuss assignments, expectations, priorities and deadlines as well as seek guidance and coaching from manager. Notifies manager when workload is light and volunteers for additional work. Adjusts effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements or cultures.
- High School Diploma or GED
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Professional verbal communication skills.
Proficient computer skills to enter and validate data in multiple systems
Cognitive Ability to learn quickly, learn from experience, and appropriately apply learning to new situations.
Appropriate business attire to be worn when having contact with families or guests
Ability to work overtime
Ability to comply with company policies including but not limited to punctuality/attendance and projecting a favorable image of the company.
Work is in an office environment. Work seated and/or standing and walking in a carpeted, air-conditioned office where noise level from associates can be quiet to moderate.
Ability to work in a grieving and emotional environment
