Provides analytical support for management and takes on the core analytical work on assigned topics. Identifies and Researches financial variances by reviewing journal entries, schedules, and invoices in preparation of the financial statement close and consolidation process on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis. Assists in the identification and resolution of accounting issues encountered while keeping the Manager apprised of potential issues requiring attention. They serve as a liaison to other departments from which this group needs assistance.



  • Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, reports, schedules, journal entries, accruals, and presentations needed for monthly, quarterly, and annual for management review.

  • Build, modify, and maintain standard and non-standard SQL Queries for financial reporting, statistical analysis, ad hoc reporting, and business analytics

  • Develop Quality Assurance procedures and gain understanding of system and/or business processes to validate data collection, analysis, and reporting prior to distribution to customer or presentation. Tie data and result back to GL or OPA Financial statements

  • Analyze and challenge financial results when necessary to assure accuracy.

  • Assist with financial forecasting and budgeting models.

  • Respond to questions and inquiries for additional analysis, as needed.

  • Utilize various process improvement and assist with the identification of improvement opportunities.

  • Compile information in a user-friendly format to present to key internal clients.

  • Ensures that transactions are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Research variances and be able to provide business reasons/explanations.

  • Review GL and AP detail to ensure invoices are coded to appropriately


  • Develop dynamic forecasting models that allows management to revise forecasting variables and project outcomes. Build seasonality into forecasting

  • Performs additional financial analysis as requested


  • Build, modify, and maintain financial SQL queries or reports to meet business needs. Collaborate with management on report criteria and desired outcome that provides data in a user-friendly format.


Education & Licenses:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related discipline is required

Experience & Knowledge:

  • At least three (3) years corporate Accounting & Finance experience with an in-depth understanding of General Ledger and closing processes

  • Experience with Oracle or Coupa software strongly desired

Skills & Abilities (not listed within Competencies):

  • Computer literate and proficient with MS Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Advanced SQL query skills

  • Excellent analytical, prioritization and time management skills

  • Keen attention to detail

  • Self-starter who can work independently, in a team, and multi-task while working to deadlines

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain collaborative working relationships with other team members across functional groups

  • Willingness to learn
