Provides local, state, federal and provincial laws and regulations and internal company policy and procedures support and solutions for field operations. Provides documentation support to field operations validating accuracy and consistency on service documents in a polite, professional manner with a goal to meet and exceed customer expectations. Provides team training and reviews daily team workload.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Policy Support

  • Uses adept knowledge of state/provincial specific laws and Company standard operating policies and procedures for services requested

  • Validates that documents from the field location to support requested service comply with state law and Company policies and procedures

  • Interprets and evaluates documentation to verify information is completed accordingly with accuracy and consistency

  • Demonstrates timely response to document inquiries and directs internal customers with clear instructions to correct documentation as needed

  • Maintains professional and cooperative relationship with locations

  • Works closely with Legal, Compliance Services, Operations Support and the individual businesses in support of the Company’s Compliance Review Program

  • Assist with the development & implementation of processes, procedures & standards in compliance with local, state, federal & provincial laws & regulations

  • Acts as the primary point of contact for compliance support at company owned and operated facilities

Training and Quality Control

  • Provides training on policies, procedures, standards and specific state/provincial regulations for multiple roles within the organization at the direction of the department manager (in-person and webinar trainings)

  • Reviews documentation queues daily to maintain team workload efficiencies and effectiveness

  • Reviews team reports for historical documentation corrections to maintain consistency and efficiency

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/MINIMUM Requirements

Education:

  • High School or GED equivalent

Experience:

  • Three (3) year experience required in a fast-paced professional office clerical and customer-focused service capacity preferably in funeral or cemetery operations

  • Three (3) year experience in funeral, cemetery, cremation business

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of Company identification, cremation, interment verification and related policies

  • Working knowledge of office equipment including computers, copiers, and printers at a level consistent with experience.

  • MS Office Suite experience (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

  • Good oral and written communication skills with management, customers and peers

  • Ability to remain professional, rational and kind in high stress, high demand, and sometimes contentious situations

  • Work independently without direct supervision

  • Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills

  • High level of compassion and integrity

  • Problem solving skills

  • Strong skills in time management and prioritizing workload

  • Must be proactive, service-oriented, goal driven and results oriented

  • Willingness to take on continuing challenges and adapt to a changing environment

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
