The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of complex or large projects spanning one or more areas of the business. Manages resources, schedules, and financials and adheres to stage gate quality control guidelines throughout the full project life cycle. This also includes management of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. Contributes to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery. The Senior Project Manager has the authority to run the project(s) on a day-to-day basis and verify that the project produces the required deliverables of quality, within the specified constraints of time and cost and to achieve the potential benefits defined in the business case.


  • Plans, budgets, oversees, and documents all phases of a project including concept, feasibility, planning, execution and closure

  • Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for multiple large-scale, multi work stream projects and or programs simultaneously

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to:

  • Help build a business case for the project prior to project approval

  • Ensure business requirements are clearly defined and documented

  • Define the scope, risks, potential issues and resources of the project

  • Ensure expected benefits are realized while managing the impact of the organizational change to the business and customer

  • Manages all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to, and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives

  • Oversees the various work streams of activities in the project and provides status reporting to leadership regarding milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues, mitigation plans, metrics, test and deployment

  • Develops portfolio and or program level dashboards, monthly reports, schedules, budgets, presentations and related performance metrics

  • Manages a portfolio of complex initiatives that span one or more areas of the business

  • Provides leadership and strategic direction to the project team and manages activities and resources

  • Chairs project team and Executive Steering Committee meetings

  • Manages day-to-day client interaction and expectations

  • Provides status reporting to leadership regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues, mitigation plans, metrics, test and deployment

  • Develops unique knowledge of each client‘s business, organization and objectives

  • Measures and track progress using various tools and techniques

  • Develops working relationships with program stakeholders, sponsors and executives

  • Positively represents and markets PMO services to the organization

  • Leads the development of goals and objectives for each project

  • Manages the process and progress of each project to ensure the client’s needs are met

  • Manages project scope and change control processes

  • Participates in vendor selections and development as well as assisting in development of Statements of Work and specifications for evaluation by key stakeholders

  • Drives implementation by utilizing the change managers effectively

  • Monitors, tracks and controls outcomes to resolve issues, dependencies and critical deliverables

  • Ensures presentations and all work produced are of highest quality

  • Understands the processes of the PMO and the roles of each team member

EDUCATIONAL/Experience/MINIMUM Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field


  • PMP certification


  • Eight (8) years of experience as a project manager

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proven ability to partner with and collaborate across multiple areas in order to achieve a common business objective

  • Ability to train and mentor others on effective project management techniques

  • Cognizant of new project management techniques and trends to apply to the PMO

  • Decisiveness in resolving business problems, decision making and identifying priorities

  • Financial management and analytical skills

  • Effective time management

  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills

  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Fully proficient in MS Project, MS Office Suite and SharePoint

  • Diplomacy and influence skills, conflict management skills

  • Ability to travel to delivery centers or field locations as required

  • Be an influencer and leader within the PMO group

  • Excellent team management skills

  • Interpersonal skills to influence and effect change and a continuous improvement mindset

  • Proficient in a project planning tool (MS Project, Smartsheet, Work Otter, etc.), MS Office Suite, and SharePoint

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira

  • Knowledge of Organizational Change Management Skills a plus
