This role will focus on systems analysis as well as payroll processing support. Assist with US and Canadian payroll processing, analysis and resolution of payroll issues. Ensure operational effectiveness of payroll systems and processes.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the processing of weekly and bi-weekly on-cycle, off-cycle, and same day payrolls to ensure timely and accurate payment to all associates
Prepare and assist with payroll statistical and operational reporting
Assist with maintaining the payroll database of current employees, wages and benefits
Provide information to departmental management for reporting and prepare materials for internal and external auditors
Research, analyze and resolve problems or questions presented by associates, leadership, and/or other functional area partners using knowledge of entire payroll functions.
Assist the payroll team with the review of payroll audit reports, working with other functional areas to ensure errors are reconciled and corrected quickly, and resolve payroll issues
Recommend and participate in the development of new functional processes.
Proactively identify departmental process or procedural obstacles and make recommendations for resolution or revision.
Assist with troubleshooting payroll system configuration and reporting issues to identify and fix root causes
Create and modify existing custom reports to meet business needs where necessary
Work with assigned client groups, such as HR and Payroll, to support business requirements, data gathering and analysis.
Supports the assessment and resolution of on-going production operations issues.
Works directly with team members to understand project concept, objectives and approach.
Assists in taking assigned project from original concept through final implementation.
Reviews, analyzes and creates detailed documentation of business processes and systems functionality, including workflow, program functions and steps required to execute systems transactions/processes.
Assists in defining, developing and executing test plans, in partnership with functional and technical project team members.
Ensures that all tests are conducted and documented according to required standards.
Ensures that all items follow the change management process.
Participate in pre-processing controls and reviews of the payroll data.
Recommend and participate in the development of new functional processes.
Proactively identify departmental process or procedural obstacles and make recommendations for resolution or revision.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
Experience:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge in Workday payroll systems
Knowledge of EIB/file loading
Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to grasp concepts quickly, demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Understanding of large volume payroll and HR processes
Available for weekend work as needed to assist with payroll processing and error resolution
Self-motivated, creative problem solver with good time management skills, the ability to meet deadlines, strong attention to detail
