This position plays a key real estate and licensing role in a busy corporate acquisition and divestiture and real estate practice. This will require researching the law, investigating facts, preparing legal documents, and facilitating closings. Performs legal assignments that are varied and complex in nature. Assignments may be broad, requiring originality, ingenuity, and a high degree of technical skill.

Job Responsibilities

  • Order and review title reports

  • Review and analyze surveys

  • Draft objection letters in the event of any survey or title issues

  • Prepare closing checklist and closing documents with assistance of legal counsel

  • Coordinate closings

  • Prepare deeds and transfer documents

  • Communicate with title company and counter parties concerning real estate and licensing matters

  • Heavily involved in problem solving solutions and will act as a liaison with business owners and internal business units to resolve issues that may arise from transactions.

  • Research ownership of company parcels of real property

  • Ensure that state-specific regulatory requirements regarding divestitures and acquisitions are met. Will include filing licensing applications.

  • Assist the attorneys handling the divestitures and/or acquisitions as needed

Requirements:

  • Highly organized

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Strong judgment

  • Highly responsive during closings

  • Must be able to research and summarize statues and rules and make required regulatory filings with assistance of legal counsel

  • 2+ years of legal research and writing experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines

  • Proficiency in Word and Excel

  • Real Estate closing experience strongly preferred
