SCI Shared Resources LLC Corporate - Director of Sales Application Development in Houston, Texas

Overview & Responsibilities


Unleash new levels of efficiency, performance, and success through sales software application development of proprietary software and Customer Relationship Management. Develop a sustainable vision and long-term strategy. Oversee software development requirements and testing. Manage application releases across the organization.


Strategy 30%

  • Establishes and implements Sales Enablement long-term strategy to meet future business, sales strategy, products, and regulatory needs. Collaborates with Market Leadership, Sales, and Product Development to understand the business, goals, and company strategy as well as sharing of challenges, failures, and successes.

  • Responsible for change management throughout sales, stakeholders, and leaderships ensuring a smooth rollout and acceptance.

  • Develop Sales KPIs within technology to measure performance, drive sales accountability, and support good business decisions.

Operations 40%

  • Creates a software vision to support business needs and the company’s competitive edge.

  • Collaborates with end-users regarding their experience. Confirms software business and functional requirements meet stakeholders business needs to transform the sales experience.

  • Partners with Information Technology on project plans, bandwidth, resources, deliverables, and timelines. Oversees software enhancements, testing, and quality assurance as well as the development of user job aids. Minimizes risk.

  • Collaborate with Sales Learning & Development on software training, job aids, videos, or similar to support effective software releases for the end-user.

Administration 10%

  • Identifies and implements innovative solutions for practice or workflow changes to improve department operations or other department-specific measures by leading unit projects and/or other department/system directed activities. Supports change initiatives, maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment; adjusts effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements or cultures

  • Develop annual expense and personnel budgets, reviews expense statements and takes necessary actions to control and reduce costs. Ensures adequate supplies are available. Implements department strategies to achieve financial target and staffing needs, developing others to do the same, through optimizing productivity, supply/resource efficiency, minimizing incidental overtime and overtime percentage, and other areas according to department specifications. Proactively identifies and plans for capital needs.

People Development 20%

  • Develop a strong, trusting, and reliable team. Understand team members career aspirations and provide assignments and goals that develop skills and/or close gaps. Constructively address issues and provide tangible and appropriate feedback. Apply a proactive and collaborative management style in order to increase employee engagement and minimize turnover. Monitor training and licensing requirements ensuring staff is re-trained/licensed prior to expiration.

  • Responsible for screening candidates (internal and external) and hiring or promoting a skilled and effective staff. Establishes pay, recommends pay increases, special pays, and career advancements.

  • Writes development plans to close behavior or skill gaps. Discipline staff as necessary. Collaborates with Human Resources throughout discipline, development, and termination processes. Recommends and discusses terminations with Leadership.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Licenses:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related discipline

Experience & Knowledge:

  • At least twelve (12) years’ sales support in a variety of disciplines such as software development, learning & development, customer service, product development, or similar

  • Experience developing long-term strategy, implementing strategy, and change management across the organization required

  • At least five (5) years’ project management experience developing and implementing organization wide critical projects.

  • At least six (6) years’ Application Development experience including software enhancement, understanding the user experience, as well as SIT, UAT, and regression testing

  • Experience developing sales support systems required

  • Experience with Customer Relations Management systems strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to management a variety stakeholders across the organization and obtain agreement

Skills & Abilities (not listed within Competencies):

  • Computer literate and proficient with MS Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point

  • Must be able to travel up to 20% of time within North America required, ability to lift and carry luggage
