Supports the organization’s compensation goals, providing analysis of business data for use in decision making and efficiency improvement initiatives, manages compensation related projects, develops tools and solutions to support analyses or processes and coordinates system enhancements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Aggregates and performs statistical analysis on business data based on the needs of the Compensation team

  • Integrates data from multiple data sources or functional areas, ensures data accuracy and integrity, and updates data as needed

  • Writes queries or reports to provide data for various analytical projects

  • Interprets data to identify business trends, conduct root cause analysis of business problems, or suggest areas for process improvement

  • Assesses current practices, collects information and analyzes industry trends to determine organizational objectives

  • Contributes organizational data to, analyzes results of, and submits results for compensation surveys

  • Conducts market analysis of company jobs to determine competitive positioning of the organizations pay programs

  • Participates in annual salary administration programs, including development of incentive or salary increase budgets

  • Participates in administration of bonus, incentive, or salary increase programs

  • Makes recommendations for improving tools and systems

Project Lead

  • Serves as lead on key Compensation projects

  • Prepares and maintains project plans, tracks project progress, and prepares reports for clients or project stakeholders

  • Reviews project requirements, identifies interdependencies with internal or external departments or service providers, delegates responsibilities, and ensures that work is completed as needed

  • Schedules relevant team or cross-functional meetings to ensure project success and to facilitate collaboration

  • Maintains project-related documentation

  • May develop user documentation or training materials

System and Tool Maintenance and Enhancements

  • Develops solutions and tools to support Compensation analyses or processes - most commonly with Microsoft Excel but may also involve other relevant tools

  • Serves as a liaison between systems team and Compensation Team for systems changes

  • Assists Compensation Team with development of requirements for system or tool changes

  • Communicates requirements to the systems team through the use of specifications, project plans, or other forms of documentation

  • Coordinates with systems teams, and Compensation team to test processes and functionality

MINIMUM Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Management Information Systems or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

  • Five (5) years of experience as a data analyst, business analyst or in a related field

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Advanced MS excel skills (including experience with Power Query)

  • Demonstrated ability and experience handling complex issues and problems referring only the most complex issues to higher-level staff

  • Possesses sufficient knowledge of subject matter and technical expertise to perform with a high level of independence while requiring minimal assistance

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Project management skills

  • Ability to build collaborative relationships and work as part of a team

  • Ability to seek needed information/research skills

  • Analytical thinking skills

  • Detail oriented.
